Life

It’s Okay to Be

It’s okay to be angry.

It’s okay to be frustrated at the world, feel slighted by fate, and wonder when your break is coming.

It’s okay to yell and scream and cry into your pillow. And it’s okay to sit there with a blank stare.

It’s okay to be happy.

It’s okay to feel drunken with bliss and wake up each morning wondering how life can be so good.

It’s okay to feel joy, even when those around you are feeling grief. And it’s okay to not feel bad about it.

It’s okay to be alone.

It’s okay to plan a life without a partner, a love, or the notion of kids.

It’s okay to spend your time in solitude and isolation. And it’s okay that people don’t understand it.

It’s okay to be afraid.

It’s okay to question every single step and wonder if you’re making the right choice.

It’s okay to prepare for pain and heartache. And it’s okay to experience it.

It’s okay to be sad.

It’s okay to cry for days and not cry for more days.

It’s okay to get out of the house or stay in the house or change houses all together. And it’s okay grieve in your way.

It’s okay to be joyful.

It’s okay to let out that unique guffaw at the most inopportune time.

It’s okay to release the moment of joy that you are experiencing. And it’s okay to not hold it in.

It’s okay to be hopeful.

It’s okay to let go of inhibitions and expect the best that life has to offer.

It’s okay to make lofty plans without a shred of confidence that they will come true. And it’s okay if they don’t.

It’s okay to be in love.

It’s okay to find happiness in another person and the way that they complete you.

It’s okay to post pictures of them and show the world your adoration and devotion. And it’s okay if it annoys people.

It’s okay to be honest.

It’s okay to say what you need to say to a person that needs to hear it.

It’s okay to find peace in your truth and move forward from that space. And it’s okay to not feel bad about it.

It’s okay to be you.

It’s okay to walk away from what everyone else thinks you should be and create your own path.

It’s okay to say no to opportunity that doesn’t serve you. And it’s okay to say yes. Period.

Angry, happy, alone, afraid, sad, joyful, hopeful, in love, honest.

You are you.

Give yourself permission to be what you need to be in each moment.

And in the moment that you need to rest,

it’s okay to

just

be.
